چکیده

A simple, rapid colorimetric method using label-free Ag NPs (silver nanoparticles) as probe for detection of melamine in raw milk was developed in this study. The assay relies on the fact that melamine can induce aggregation of Ag NPs, and thereby results in their yellow-to-red color change. The concentration of melamine in raw milk can be determined by monitoring with the naked eyes or a UVeVis spectrophotometer. The detection limit of the present method for melamine is 2.32 mM (3s). The proposed method is a promising mean for on-site screening of melamine adulterant in raw milk without costly instruments. 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Label-free fluorescence detection of melamine with a truncated aptamer.

The 2008 Chinese milk scandal caused by the adulteration of melamine encouraged the public to pay attention to melamine detection in milk products and other food stuffs. To allow simple and rapid detection of melamine, we previously isolated an 88 nt melamine aptamer (called Rd29C33) using the structure-switching SELEX. However, this 88 nt oligonucleotide is costly to synthesize, and may also c...

Development of an immunochromatographic strip test for rapid detection of melamine in raw milk, milk products and animal feed.

A simple, rapid and sensitive immunogold chromatographic strip test based on a monoclonal antibody was developed for the detection of melamine (MEL) residues in raw milk, milk products and animal feed. The limit of detection was estimated to be 0.05 μg/mL in raw milk, since the detection test line on the strip test completely disappeared at this concentration. The limit of detection was 2 μg/mL...

Colorimetric detection of melamine in milk by using gold nanoparticles-based LSPR via optical fibers

A biosensing system with optical fibers is proposed for the colorimetric detection of melamine in liquid milk samples by using the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of unmodified gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The biosensing system consists of a broadband light source that covers the spectral range from 200 nm to 1700 nm, an optical attenuator, three types of 600 μm premium optical fibers...

Electrochemical assay of anti-tetanus toxoid monoclonal antibody by silver enhancement of gold nanoparticles at carbon nanotubes modified glassy carbon electrode

Tetanus is caused by the toxin secreted by Clostridium tetani. Due to the rapid infection with this bacterium, it is so important to investigate the tetanus immunity of people. Therefore, electrochemical biosensors, as one of the most effective tools in this regard, have demanded characteristics such as being fast, simple, cost-effective and portable. However, their detection sensitivity is not...

A Fast and Cost-Effective Detection of Melamine by Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy Using a Novel Hydrogen Bonding-Assisted Supramolecular Matrix and Gold-Coated Magnetic Nanoparticles

A fast and cost-effective melamine detection approach has been developed based on surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) using a novel hydrogen bonding-assisted supramolecular matrix. The detection utilizes Fe3O4/Au magnetic nanoparticles coated with 5-aminoorotic acid (AOA) as a SERS active substrate (Fe3O4/Au–AOA), and Rhodamine B (RhB) conjugated AOA as a Raman reporter (AOA–RhB). Upon m...
